Peace & Security

Peace & Security

As a Foundation, we recognise that the existence of peace, security, stability and governance is germane in the quest for achieving sustainable development on the African continent. A look at the development pattern across the ages and the social standing of nations buttress the point that growth and development is relative to the conscious effort it makes at promoting peace and security.

Beyond development, prolonged and unresolved conflicts amplify the fragility and risks of the failure of most States and give opportunities for  the rise of non-democratic powers within the continent. Working with the international community, regional bodies, development partners, and the civil society, we actively explore opportunities for promoting the security of the states and its people within the context of respect for the rule of law, fundamental human rights and democratic principles.
Our Peace and Security Programme focuses on:

  • Peace Building
  • Conflict Prevention
  • Promoting Women Participation in Peace Building Process and Architecture
  • Promoting Social Cohesion
  • Countering Violent Extremism
  • Advocating for Peaceful Transition of Power
  • Conflict Resolution and High level Mediation
